TypeRoom secures $20M to scale accessible typography tools for product teams

TypeRoom provides a middleware layer that enforces typographic scale, contrast ratios, and responsive typography rules at runtime. Today the company announced a $20 million Series A led by Accel to grow its engineering organization and deepen integrations with major design and dev platforms.

The product plugs into design systems to ensure text remains accessible across breakpoints and locales. It provides live linting, automated replacement suggestions for problematic combinations, and a runtime layer that prevents regressions without altering designers' source files.

TypeRoom plans to use the new funding to build plugins for Figma, Adobe, and popular front-end frameworks like Next.js and Svelte. They also announced an enterprise dashboard for auditing typographic compliance across multinational products.

Design leads praised TypeRoom’s ability to reduce QA cycles around localization and responsive behavior. The company will offer free tiers for small teams and enterprise contracts that include training and typographic consultancy.
