Unity debuts SceneSketcher: AI-driven level design plugin for rapid prototyping

SceneSketcher integrates an LLM and geometry-aware generators to convert artist sketches and objective prompts (e.g., "dense urban combat space with verticality") into a populated scene. The plugin places props, sizes navigation areas, and suggests POI flow while respecting collision and pathfinding constraints.

The tool also suggests lighting presets and modular mesh variants to explore mood and silhouette quickly. Designers can lock critical gameplay features while allowing the generator to iterate on secondary elements, enabling a rapid A/B process that focuses human attention where it matters most.

Unity offers SceneSketcher as part of its Pro package with source assets that are production-ready or marked as prototyping-only. The plugin is positioned to reduce the time from concept to a testable level and to democratize prototyping for smaller teams.
