Unity launches 'Muse'—AI-driven character and environment design tools inside the Editor
Gaming · 5 min read
Muse offers a character generator that produces rigs, textures, and LODs from prompts and reference images, plus an environment sculptor that suggests modular blocks and shader presets for target aesthetics. Outputs are native Unity assets that can be further edited in the usual pipeline.
Unity emphasizes workflow integration: Muse respects project naming conventions and asset import settings, and it includes batch-export options for game-ready optimization. There's also an authoring layer for animators to attach behavior trees and tweak procedural animation parameters.
Unity positions Muse as a productivity layer rather than a replacement for artists, highlighting tools for asset provenance, licensing, and in-editor review. Pricing and beta access information were announced for Unity Pro subscribers and select studios.
