UX Research Toolkit 2.0 adds AI-assisted affinity mapping and persona generation

UX Research Toolkit 2.0 includes an AI-assisted affinity mapping board that clusters research notes, quotes, and screenshots into themes and sub-themes automatically. The system offers a semi-automated review flow so researchers can accept, merge, or re-label clusters and preserve provenance for stakeholder review.

The toolkit also generates draft personas and journey maps from clustered data, producing artifacts that designers can iterate on. Each persona includes suggested goals, pain points, and a prioritized list of features, all traceable back to source quotes and sessions.

The team behind the toolkit emphasized responsible use: researchers can opt out of automated suggestions, and the system flags low-confidence clusters for manual inspection. The update is targeted at small-to-medium product teams and comes with export options for Miro, Figma, and Notion.
