VectorFoundry raises $65M and launches ForgeAI to automate shader and material creation for game devs

VectorFoundry announced a $65M Series B led by Forge Capital and launched ForgeAI, an AI assistant that generates performant shader code and material graphs for engines like Unreal and Unity. Developers can provide references and constraints (performance budget, platform) and receive shader variants tuned for different quality tiers.

ForgeAI also includes a profiling tool that predicts runtime cost across target platforms and auto-suggests LOD transitions and baked approximations. The tool's asset outputs are designed to slot directly into existing pipelines with minimal manual cleanup.

The funding will expand support for hardware-specific optimizations, build integrations for engine render pipelines, and add features for animated materials and volumetric effects. VectorFoundry reported interest from several mid-tier studios and an early partnership with an engine middleware vendor.
