VectorFoundry secures $18M to scale vector search-as-a-service for multimodal retrieval

VectorFoundry is positioning itself as a managed backend for retrieval-augmented generation and multimodal search, touting performance optimizations like quantized embeddings and GPU-backed ANN indexes. The platform supports streaming ingestion and schema-less metadata to accelerate production deployments.

The $18 million funding round was led by CoreScale Partners and will underwrite additional engineering resources and new regional data centers. VectorFoundry plans to introduce federated indexing and privacy-preserving search for customers in finance and healthcare.

Customers report using the service to power enterprise knowledge bases, media asset management, and voice-based knowledge retrieval. The company will also launch a compliance toolkit to help teams enforce retention policies and search-level access controls.
