VectorPlay raises $40M to bring AI-driven level design into mainstream studios

VectorPlay’s assistant accepts parameters like desired difficulty curve, player movement archetypes, and visual themes, then produces editable level geometry, spawn placements, and scripted events. Output is engine-agnostic and comes with a validation suite for playability metrics.

The $40 million funding round led by Arcade Ventures will expand integrations with major engines, invest in designer-facing UX, and grow the playtesting analytics team. VectorPlay emphasizes its commitment to human-in-the-loop workflows, allowing designers to accept, tweak, or regenerate content.

Beta studios report that the assistant speeds up whiteboxing phases and uncovers layout variants designers may not have tried. VectorPlay plans to add multiplayer-aware generation and tools for aesthetic variation next quarter.
