VergeOS unveils a composable mobile OS overlay for adaptive UX and raises $38M

VergeOS introduced a composable overlay that sits atop Android to enable designers to declare adaptive UX layers—rules that respond to context like motion, battery, and user goals. The system works with app themes and can apply consistent transitions across installed apps.

The $38 million round will support negotiations with OEMs and work on performance optimizations to ensure the overlay minimally impacts battery and latency. VergeOS is positioning the product as a way to deliver coherent UX across device customizations.

Design teams testing VergeOS said it simplified the process of tuning UX for device-specific affordances and improved perceived product quality during dynamic contexts such as driving or workouts. VergeOS plans an enterprise dashboard for policy management and telemetry.
