VerityAI raises $85M Series C to commercialize multimodal verification for deepfakes

VerityAI's technology combines forensic signal analysis with multimodal models to identify manipulated audio, video, and synthetic text, and provide provenance traces. The Series C was led by Signal Ventures, citing growing demand from media organizations and regulators for reliable verification tools.

The startup plans to use the funding to broaden its global footprint, build out low-latency APIs for broadcast workflows, and invest in R&D for real-time detection in live streams. VerityAI also emphasized investments in explainability and forensic reporting suitable for legal proceedings.

VerityAI announced partnerships with several newsrooms and a pilot with an electoral commission. The company says its roadmap includes a lightweight on-device verifier for journalists in the field and standardized evidence export formats for chain-of-custody requirements.
