visionOS 1.5 focuses on spatial UI components and developer performance tools

visionOS 1.5, rolled out to developers, delivers a set of standardized spatial UI components such as anchored panels, contextual trays, and gaze-aware tooltips. The components are designed to reduce friction for teams building multi-modal spatial experiences and to encourage consistent interaction patterns across apps.

The release also includes a new performance profiler tuned to spatial rendering, with tools for memory budgeting, frame-time heatmaps, and real-time occlusion analysis. Apple added a simulator that better mirrors headset thermal behavior and power constraints to help teams optimize battery life and comfort.

For designers, the update brings new inspector panes inside Xcode and Figma plugins to bridge 2D layout work into spatial scenes. Apple highlighted partnerships with middleware vendors to ensure common engines can adopt the components quickly.
