VividForge launches modular handheld console after $25M seed

VividForge today announced the Forge Deck, a handheld gaming device with swappable controller modules, a 7-inch 120Hz OLED, and an open Linux-based OS optimized for indie titles. The product launch coincides with a $25 million seed round led by PixelBridge Capital.

The Forge Deck emphasizes hardware modularity: magnetically attached controller pods, a removable battery pack, and a user-replaceable haptics module. VividForge also released a developer SDK and delivery pipeline to streamline porting of indie and retro titles.

Investors cited the rising appetite for boutique handhelds and community-driven ecosystems. VividForge plans to begin shipping to early backers in Q4 2026 and will host a developer summit to onboard studios and modders.
