VoxelForge unveils indie-friendly voxel engine and raises $8M seed

VoxelForge launched ForgeCore, a voxel engine that ships with editor tools designed for rapid prototyping and teaching game development fundamentals. It includes real-time streaming of voxel chunks, multi-resolution LODs, and a modular physics plugin for destructible environments.

The company secured an $8 million seed round from PlayFoundry and a group of game-industry angels. The capital will fund additional tooling, educational partnerships, and development of a community marketplace for assets and gameplay modules.

ForgeCore is positioned as a bridge between hobbyist sandbox toolkits and heavyweight commercial engines, with export options for WebAssembly, consoles, and Unity integration. Early access studios praised its fast iteration loop and built-in mod management to distribute player-created content.
