Waypoint Labs, a startup focusing on developer tooling for Internet of Things products, announced a $15 million Series A to debut OpenBridge, an SDK that aims to unify UI patterns and state synchronization across embedded devices and companion apps. The round was led by Signal Peak Ventures with strategic investments from several hardware OEMs.
OpenBridge includes a visual state editor, device capability discovery, and a lightweight runtime to ensure consistent UX whether users interact via mobile, in-car displays, or on-device screens. The company highlights power-efficient protocols and over-the-air component updates.
Waypoint plans enterprise pilots in smart home and connected automotive segments, offering both hosted and on-premises options. The funding will go toward engineering, certification partnerships, and expanding the company's device lab for compliance testing.
