Zeplin adds LLM-powered release notes and design diff summaries for handoffs
Tech · 4 min read
Zeplin can now generate human-readable release notes from design version diffs, highlighting token changes, component updates, and suggested developer tasks. Each generated note includes links to impacted screens, a prioritized bug list, and an estimated implementation complexity.
The LLM-driven triage tool classifies changes as breaking, cosmetic, or behavioral and assigns suggested owner roles. Zeplin added an audit trail so teams can review the model's justification for each classification and adjust confidence thresholds for automatic labeling.
Teams reported fewer ambiguous handoffs and less back-and-forth in early pilots. Zeplin positions the update as a productivity layer, not an automation replacement: developers still assign sprints and sign off on scope, while designers can use the summaries to accelerate sprint planning.
