Zeplin adds token sync and promptable component variants for teams

Zeplin now synchronizes design tokens bi-directionally with tools like Figma and Sketch, ensuring style updates propagate cleanly between designers and devs. The system resolves conflicts by preserving a canonical source chosen by the team and creating migration suggestions when tokens are renamed.

The promptable variants panel uses a lightweight model to propose component states and size variants—e.g., compact, default, spacious—based on a component's anatomy. It can also generate localization-aware variants, suggesting text truncation strategies and alternate layouts for translated strings.

Zeplin included export options for tokens to multiple formats (JSON, SCSS, Swift) and audit trails so teams can review who accepted generated variants. The company emphasized enterprise governance and role-based permissions to control who can apply model-generated changes to shared libraries.
