Zeplin revamps handoff with inline AI code suggestions and token mapping

The update surfaces suggested CSS, SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose snippets inline next to components, with a toggle to show different levels of abstraction. Zeplin's mapping engine uses design tokens and component metadata to produce consistent, adoptable code.

An AI assistant flags mismatches between design and implementation — for instance, inconsistent spacing scales or token drift — and suggests fixes that can be approved by maintainers. The platform also added a 'handoff checklist' powered by automated checks, reducing back-and-forths during sprints.

Teams reported faster adoption of design system updates and fewer inconsistencies across platforms. Zeplin stressed that generated code is meant to be a starting point and that organizations should configure style mappers to reflect their engineering conventions.
