Zeplin update adds AI-generated spec sheets and accessible token exports

The new spec sheets are generated from design files and include precise spacing grids, color token usage, and a checklist of accessibility concerns with suggested fixes. Developers can export ready-to-use tokens for React, Vue, or native mobile frameworks and obtain a mapping table to bridge design and code naming conventions.

Zeplin added a governance layer where admins can set token naming rules and freeze critical tokens to prevent accidental drift. The platform's API allows CI processes to reject PRs that diverge from frozen tokens or that introduce unapproved colors.

Engineering teams welcomed clearer, machine-readable specs, while designers appreciated the reduced manual labor. Some organizations asked for deeper versioning hooks tied to design system releases; Zeplin said tighter Git integration was on the roadmap.
